update my new address with primary school during applying secondary school

I am applying secondary school for my girl. She is now year 6. I just realise that I forgot to update my address with primary school. I moved to my current address since April. Just keeping busy, I totally forgot to update with school. The reason why I moved is to apply the secondary school which just 5 mins walk from home. Someone told me I need to stay in the catchment area at least 6 months to apply this school. But I can’t find such thing in school admission policy. I just struggle if I update my new address now, it will not enough 6 months. Is it important to update my new home address with primary school? Is the council check with it?
Thanks

It doesn't matter that you haven't updated the primary school (although you should now!). You have been in the catchment area for long enough so as long as you can prove that with council tax etc, the fact you haven't told the primary school shouldn't make a difference

When we applied for secondary school we had to provide our council tax number - I guess the check is on that side?

Update the primary address but I’m not even sure the secondary school would check?

It should detail in the school admission document (on the school website) or on the council website what evidence is needed.
As long as you can prove when you moved, with contracts, council tax & electricity/gas usage I don't imagine it matters that you haven't told the primary school.
Which is your local council? Someone on here may have more precise information.

Yes. i just contact the school office in primary school, but they looked really busy. Hope they update it for me. I still keep all the utility bills and council tax bill with me, hope it should be alright. btw, i am under Havering council.
