Does anyone know approximately how many pupils sit for Hampton, KGS and Reed's? Trying to work out odds of achieving a place. This is 11+.

KGS has the most applicants because it's mixed and easily accessible on public transport. But it's irrelevant, if you get an offer from Hampton statistically you will get an offer from Reeds and KGS too.

Has your ds not sat some 10 plus exams already?

Thank you- do you know approx how many for each?

Yes we are re-sitting for 11 + and Hampton and sitting others for the first time.

For KGS I think it’s around 1,300 for 100 places (25ish would have been offered at 10+ for deferred entry). But if you call the admissions team they will likely tell you.

Bear in mind for all these schools kids can be applying for 6 (or more); and many get multiple offers. So they will offer many more than places available…..

@lolo99 , it's much more complicated when you include a mixed school because they like to enrol the same number of girls and boys but there are many more private options for girls than boys so the offer rates differ, ie they may offer 4 places for every girl that accepts but 3 places for every boy that accepts, no one knows so it best to not think about it.
Hampton gets heavily hit by Tiffin Boys so they know a candidate will probably turn them down if they get into Tiffin Boys.

Best of luck to your ds for the coming months esp if you have Tiffin soon.

KGS website has some info under FAQs. It says 900-1000 applicants for 125 places ( not sure how the 10+ impacts that).

My DS has just started and we heard during offers rounds to at they offer 2 places for every spot, so chances of getting an offer are approx 1 in 4.

Best of luck. Only one week in but we love KGS so far.

Best advice is not to get too worried about numbers. It varies year to year and some candidates will get several offers and then have to turn down places offered. Schools always over offer and some go to waiting lists. No one really knows the magic formula behind this so it’s just speculation. All the schools you mention are popular and there are pros & cons to each and personal choice comes into it. At 11+, children are sitting for several schools, on average 5-6. The numbers sitting therefore seem inflated but remember each child can only go to one school! Good luck!
