Enterprise and marketing exam result

Hello,

Can anyone clarify the grading system for the Enterprise and Marketing GCSE for me please ? My son got a D1 which he thinks is a good grade, but when I’ve looked online to see what it is equivalent to in terms of the old grades ie. A-C is a pass etc, it doesn’t appear to be that good of a result.
Can anyone explain the grades for me please ?

I thought a D1 was a distinction. Congratulations to your son!

I think it means Distinction, Level 1 - which is equivalent to a GCSE D - grades are awarded like this -

  • Distinction* at Level 2
  • Distinction at Level 2
  • Merit at Level 2
  • Pass at Level 2
  • Distinction at Level 1
  • Merit at Level 1
  • Pass at Level 1

It's the points equivalent of GCSE grade 3

It's not a distinction infact it is not even a pass
