DD1 (4) is really keen to learn to read and wants to do activities where she can sit down at the table with her pens and practice. Is there anywhere I can download and print some work sheets for early literacy and numeracy stuff? I don't mind paying a little for it,

Worth getting a pre-writing skills book first

Have a look at read write inc. I have found them very good with both of my kids.

Also reading eggs is good and also has worksheets you can print out.
