This school is in the press today for its Saturday classes aimed at black pupils. Thoughts please? My son is due to start reception and I’m not sure how I feel about the school now. Additionally, there has been statements about its stats not being great and on their website the results are from 2019 so difficult to say what the current position is like. The ofsted report is also outdated from 2014. However, all other reviews generally seem to be glowing.

It’s a non story, they have identified an issue with a group of students struggling and offering them lessons. It is equity in action.
Call the school to go to an open morning and see it in action, purposeful learning environment, experienced and supportive staff, diverse community of students and parents….My own kids do not go here but my god kids do and they love it as do their parents.

Thanks for the reply and the reassurance. We did get a good vibe from the visit but the bad press worried me slightly.

Where was the article? Ham and High? My friends kids went there and I was always jealous about their facilities and the things they got to do whereas my kids in another local very small CoE school had nothing of that. I have only heard good things about the school tbh
