Exam concessions for adults

Just musing.

My 18yo currently gets extra time, rest breaks and a reader (electronic or human).

If she stops formal education but goes on to try to do Level 2 functional skills (or GCSE) independently how/who certifies exam concessions?

What if we wanted me to prep her myself and just enter independently rather than being prepped at a FE College?

If it is a post 16 assessment which has enabled these adjustments they should also be applied in future.

It is, I think. Or at least reconfirmed post 16.
What 'proof' do I need to get from college to take on to adulthood?

Ds has never been asked for proof afaik. However a statement from sendco or a copy of the assessment might prove useful.

Dd2 had to have tests at 18 to prove she still needed adjustments. Dd1 got adjustments purely on diagnosis and senco reports but both were registered at institutions. If you are entering as a private candidate for exams you would need independent verification of needs, i would recommend speaking to the centre where the assessment would take place if you go down this route to find out what they require

For GCSEs there is a section on the exam board website with lots of information for private candidates.
My suggestion would be to first check if the college she has most recently been studying at would accept her as a private candidate.

Thank you all, very helpful.
DD's plans for Sept have gone up in smoke and we are now investigating other options, but she currently has no L2 qualifications which will obviously hold her back at some point.
