Hello,

We will be moving Cardiff to Greenwich next year. I am looking for a private school for my daughter. We are planing to try 7+ for her. Which school do you recommend? We would like happy environment for her, not pushy, warm
and friendly place. I will work in Queens Elisabeth Hospital so I hope we can find school which is close to that location.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @diadiadia. I suppose it depends on whether you want single sex or co-Ed. I have a friend with DDs at the Blackheath High prep. It’s a GDST school so fees are reasonable too. I am not sure about the secondary - it doesn’t get amazing results but I assume it’s because many families will be almost within grammar catchment.

Then there is Colfe’s which has boasted very good results in recent years (one could argue an almost unbelievable turn around). It seems unpretentious and has lots of families who have probably not been privately educated themselves so nice down to earth outlook and excellent sports provision.

I think there may be a mini bus from near you but you could look at Eltham. It has become co-ed and is very established with a consistently superior academic record than the ones mentioned above. But have a look around and get a feel for the place. In the other direction, you have Alleyns and Jags and St Dunstan’s. The former two have a school bus but are in the wrong direction for your work.
