Hello, I have just had my child's report back after being assessed for her Speech and understanding of language and it came back that she is significantly behind. She's struggling with pronouns, plurals and verb tense endings. Has anyone else had this with their child?

Can she hear? If she has glue ear she won’t be able to .
Read to her as much as you can/she wants.

Yes she can hear and her speech is fine now as she struggled when she was younger. It's the way she is understanding the language. She also has a very short memory.

You need to find the cause of the delay (if any) only then can you properly address it

She has another professional that is going in school to assess her further but from what they have said so far is that she can't use pronouns, plurals and verb tense endings and that she will also get the support at school for this as at her age she should be using these. I wouldn't be so worried if they said with work we can fix this but from what they are saying is that this can affect her later on. I was just wondering if there was anyone else that has been through this so I have more understanding of what we as parents can do to help

Shes a twin, I had them 7 weeks early and I don't know if maybe it's because she is prem she's having these difficulties. I'm hoping once the professional has been in school they can explain exactly what it is. Her brain takes longer than other children to process information and needs to be repeated
