Ds is doing French, he's quite good at spoken and written but less so at listening comprehension.
If he heard more French I'm sure he'd get "tuned in", can anyone recommend YouTubers or similar that he ought like to listen to?
He'd watch Minecraft and chess, not too sure what else

Songs, if he/she likes music. There are some good ones with defined lyrics and translation on youtube.

Herge's Adventure of Tin Tin and Les Miserables drama play (as opposed to the musical, the play is usually fairly faithful to Victor Hugo.

I know that is what I would have liked and discussed with others.

DD watches French stuff on Netflix with the subtitles on which I think helps.

Listening or watching?
Brilliantly funny French film called "bienvenue chez les cht'is"
Another good comedy is "le diner de con".
Le Comte de monte-cristo it's a six part series with Gerard Depardieu.
All have English subtitles but i love le Comte de monte -cristo and I'm sure it's the reason for my only A grade at GCSE! (My mum was incredulous that I did better in French than English!).
If you are looking at purely listening do you have audible? If so there is an 'French learners' series of the French classics such as 'les miserables' the books have been abridged, the narrator is excellent, although I listen as a slightly fast speed.

I was going to say this. Ds does the same.

YY to French Netflix with subtitles. Also music - for really good enunciation Charles Aznavour is great (yes, I know it's old but you can let it play in the background and some of it will go in). And I would also recommend Kendji Girac just because he's excellent, and ditto Christine and the Queens who is more pop and less folk than Kendji Girac.

Does he like sci fi? I just watched a really good French series called Missions. It has subtitles. Available on iPlayer.
