Just that really. Trying to see where our school sits compared to others. For starters:
Small girls day/boarding South East England. 7% increase.

Day / boarding school 11-18 school in SE - 9% for boarders, 7% for day pupils (although fee increases were minimal over covid so it was due).

Prep in SE - 5.5%

Barcelona state school - 5 euro increase from 160 euro per year to 165 and they apologised.

DrMarciaFieldstone · 22/04/2023 21:20

Prep school, 7.5%

Higher than usual increase in order to increase teaching/staff salaries to reflect COL rises.

Thanks all - it’s interesting to see. Our 7% is in part due to a 5% payrise for the staff. Seems reasonable.

A 5 percent pay rise is still a real term pay cut for the staff though. Our school are increasing fees by 8 percent and staff are getting a 3 percent pay increase. The governors letter suggests the increase is for staff costs. I’m sure our parents think staff are getting much bigger increases than we really are.
