French or Spanish language immersion

Hi,
my son is in year seven and learning French and Spanish (which I think is ridiculous but that is a different thread). He is really struggling with both and I’m keen to “immerse” him in one this summer to try and help him. Any tips on how to do this that don’t cost the earth?
thanks.

One of the cinemas about an hour from us puts on french films pretty frequently. Some are pretty old (60s) but most are pretty recent. They all have english subtitles as well so they're easy to follow and pick up french at the same time. There might be a similar thing near you.
I know that the Institut francais in London also offers events and activities (although I don't know if they're suitable for your DS' age).
I don't know of any Spanish equivalents, sorry

You can easily watch French or Spanish on youtube. Also, you can change a lot of the netflix or disney to french or Spanish. You just have to look through to see which ones.

You could get a French or Spanish au pair for a month during the summer to speak/play games etc with your dc. This works the best in speeding up language ability.
