South West Country prep

Hello! We are busy doing a “Tour de South West” of the country preps for our DD and DS to start reception next year. We are flexible as we are relocating but Perrott Hill (Crewkerne) and All Hallows (Shelton Mallet) are coming out as our favourites thus far. All have glossy marketing packs and do a good tour but would love to hear from local parents please. I know PH has had some ownership changes recently, and AH has joined the Bath senior school set, so any view as to the impact of these also welcomed- we want somewhere to stand the test of time! Hazlegrove seems an obvious candidate- have you taken a look? The Head was previously Deputy at my DS’ prep and fabulous there. He’s quite new in role (18 months I think) so it’s likely to have decent continuity in leadership. Sherborne Prep might be worth considering especially for musical DC, and Sandroyd is excellent. There is a recent thread comparing Hazlegrove and Sherborne, that might be interesting. You really are spoilt for choice in Dorset-Somerset so worth thinking about day/boarding mix, gender mix and links to senior schools you have in mind.
