I’m sat , no, I’m running with bated breath to Wednesday . What the government are going to propose on early years …
a) as those who work in early years it’s rare we are in a union so have a softer voice than those in the rest of the sector
b) please can we have some money , at least for the children not even looking at the underfunding of our wages
c) Jeremy stop being a nob head and suggesting changes of increasing ratios , we won’t have an early years sector
d) stop promising that early years teachers will get rewarded it’s a lie
e) what’s multii agency ? It doesn’t exist

its all going to collapse you spoons, no avoidable child care ' no work , no early years massive problems with our basics

Of course no one replies to this important topic 🙄
Sorry Mops.
As an early years lead I'm interested.

As predicted what a sham , depending on your LEA , wow a 30 % increase for settings on funding = £ 5 per hour per child . Mmmm I’m no Carole Vorderman but the figures don’t add up . Imagine having a toddler room with 10 children 2 staff , complying to the new proposals , lunch break arrives ( a legal requirement) and your early years educator associate goes for a cuppa and a well deserved break , would any of us feel safe feeding 10 children and resting them for sleep …. The answer is NO . Too boot and I have ranted on earlier - did the government miss that teachers are on strike due to working hours and conditions - how ridiculous to suggest they now take on board wrap around care 8am until 6pm …. Nuts ridiculous , the education / care system is going to fail children , as there won’t be any , who wants to work in an environment when you truly care about children and put them at risk , let alone and put it aside the awful wages . Crazy . Not having a go at you Mookie your bang on . If your up for it which I am , nursery world are really good at putting voices over , however only educators read it . I’m in the the East Midlands , we need to go to our ineffective p.ms ?

It's very frustrating. @noblegiraffe, help us out here!

You need to post on a busier board.

noblegiraffe · 10/04/2023 23:01

Sorry, not sure what you want? There seemed to be a lot of discussion about the childcare reforms on other boards?

Your presence seems to get threads busy, is all I meant. 😊
