Does anyone have any insight into the average age that is normal to take an ABRSM musical theatre performance exam? My daughter just submitted hers yesterday and got the results within 24 hours and achieved a merit. She sets herself very high standards and is crushed not to get a distinction. I personally thought the marking feedback was super harsh and thought she might get a distinction too, but we of course have told her how proud we are of her significant achievement, as she is only 8 years old. I think this must be very young to take a grade 5 and achieve a merit. Does anyone have insight as to the average age this grade would normally be taken so that I can talk to her with confidence about how well she has done?
