Hi,
We live in Bromley - I have twins 6 years old… 1 girl and 1 boy! Currently they go to different schools. My son goes to private only boys school and a daughter goes to Bromley High.
My daughter had an 7+ offer from Eltham college but we didn’t go for it because our son didn’t get an offer from Eltham.
If I move my daughter to the Eltham College there will be about 5 miles between their schools. Actually our children are really happy in their current schools but we wanted them to be in same school thats was the reason we did 7+. So they can travel by school bus together. At the moment commute is easy and manageable for us but we wanted them to share memories and travel together by school bus. I didn’t want my daughter to travel by school bus on her own in age 7+. Also I wanted their schools to be close to each other. And I was thinking we can try 11+ and see if we can get them same school or leave them where they are if they are happy - I believe commute with school bus or public bus will be easier for them in age 11 and above. Because their schools are 5 minute drive from our place at the moment.
But some of my friends told me that girls do better in coed primary and I made a wrong choice for my daughter? And some said Bromley High is better for girls because Eltham College recently became coed?
I would like to know what do you think about this?
What would you do if you were in this situation?
