Dear all, We were looking at Prince's Garden (now Brighton College Kensington) for our 4 yo child. We note it had a chance of headmistress (Alison Melrose to Lois Gaffney) as well as change of name in an extremely short space of time. Does anyone know the background and should we be worried?

We visited an open day here just last week and loved the school. Very unlike anything else we’ve seen in London. The new Head was impressive, kind, warm and clearly knows a lot about prep school education and 11+ and 13+ entry (the school is now going up to Year 8) She’s been at two other Brighton College schools. We saw her interact with the children when she didn’t realise we were watching - they who clearly adore her and we got a good vibe from the rest of the SLT (who are all newly appointed this year by the Head and were all in attendance at the event) The Head took the time to speak with every parent and answered every question well (in our opinion) The approach was like a breath of fresh air after visiting many London schools.
Go and see it is our advice, but be quick. The coffee morning we were at was packed and there’s a lot of positive talk about this school. I would guess they will be full in no time at all. We applied within an hour of leaving the school.
