Cavendish vs. Grimsdell - 4+

Hi all,

We're considering reception 2023 places for our DD at either Cavendish or Grimsdell (we haven't yet formally got an offer for the latter but this is likely what our choice will come down to).

Can I ask if anyone has uptodate intel, as a parent or otherwise, on either that could be helpful in swaying our decision one way or the other?

In particular, if anyone has any knowledge on how easy it would be to go through the Mill Hill system and leave for somewhere else at 11+ if needs be (they don't help with 11+ prep of course, but I've no idea if you need a tutor for 11+ anyway and therefore it doesn't really matter if the incumbent school doesn't help you)?

Much appreciated!

Thanks

I’m also interested in Cavendish NW1 and particularly interested in how the 11+ process is. Do you have experience of it @Herewegoagain78 ?

Sorry none of Cavendish.

Can't say I've heard of either before. Are these state or private schools? Where in the country are they?

Yes, they’re in North London - Cavendish is in Camden NW1

@TiredFather123 The Cavendish is a very sweet prep that prepares for the 11+, Grimsdell is bigger and doesn't help prepare as it is a through school, although DC do move on from it.
