Downe House/St Mary's Calne

Hi I'm thinking about these two for my DD. Both are all-girls, quite academic, country boarding schools. Can start at 11+ or 13+. I wondered if anyone had any current information about them and could tell me what they think? Thanks very much

Will be interested to watch this thread as we are thinking (along way off mind you) of one of these for our DD. I understand St Marys to be very good academically but have heard that it is quite a pressurised environment. Although perhaps the 2 go together?....

Ps. they bullied the teachers as well.

Calne is still a dump of a town. Supposedly being regenerated but no signs of real change yet.

God, I know it well and Calne is a real dump.
