Hello, my DS recently interviewed at Hampton and really does love the school. We are hoping that he will be offered a place. We live in Wimbledon and wondered if there are many people who commute from here, how is it? How long is it on the school bus? Thanks!

It's so many that they have 2 buses from Wimbledon 1 of which is direct with no stops. Remember the bus is shared with LEH and LEH juniors / Hampton prep. It's a really popular area to send to both schools and the bus is quite social because they are on there for a while so mix with each other. You can also get to the school by train from Wimbledon station to hampton station and then a walk, this makes the direction of travel popular too because there is this extra flexibility.

As @sailingsunshine says, Hampton is a popular choice from Wimbledon. I know the bus stops outside Elys and also on Coombe Lane - and there will be other ones as well.

It's a very good school but we didn't consider it for our DS as both got into a more local school.

@tabbycat4321 Hi! Are u joining as a year 7 at Hampton this September? If so, would love to connect!

Hi, could you tell me what questions were asked at Hampton in the interview?

Positivealwayss · 14/01/2024 19:09

Hi. Does anyone know how many boys are invited for Hampton academic Schloarship?

tennissquare · 14/01/2024 20:06

@Positivealwayss , has your ds been invited for an academic interview? If so you will know the standard and know that if a dc has an academic interview at Hampton he will also be in line for an academic interviews at other schools and also in line for a grammar school place. The numbers interviewed don't really matter, I would say the acceptance level works out at about 3 in each class excluding anyone who attended Hampton prep.

I think around 20ish and around 10-12 get them...best of luck! We went through all this and it's incredibly nerve-wracking. Hampton is a wonderful school though. One very happy son (who commutes on one of the Wimbledon buses!).
