Hampton and Kingston Grammar School Interview

Hi all,
My DS got invites to attend interview for Hampton School and in Kingston Grammar School. Interviews will be in January. Any suggestions what type of questions they could ask for (if your DS attended the interviews) and what is the percentage of applicants they generally call for interview Feeling worried! Please could I get some advise?

You need to check out the threads in Secondary education where this is covered but with KGS the i/v is straight forward and you have a good chance of getting a place or WL.

@sailingsunshine sorry I'm jumping in here! my DD is on WL for KGS (6th form), do you know the movement of such lists? should we be hopeful?

@MeAmy my son has the interview at Kingston Grammar next week. Can you shed some light on the interview process please...Did you do preps for the interview

@Dazzle85 KGS interview questions were not difficult for my DS- just some general questions - favourite sports, books, why you want to study in KGS etc. My DS did not take interview preps. Interviewers encourage children to be natural in their interviews. Good Luck for your DS!

@MeAmy thank you, did you get any indication of how many kids got an offer post the interview? Also was it the 10+ or the 11+ your DS attended? We are doing the 10+, and wanted to get an idea of the chances of getting an offer post the interview.

@Dazzle85 we have an exam for 14+ for my son please can you help me with where I can find the previous exam papers and also interview questions

@Premir we did the 10 plus and used the Exam Paper Plus Independent 10 plus papers for practise...The familiarisation paper provided by the school is also very good. Sorry am not aware of 14 plus. With regards to interview it was very much as described in the previous post..more personal but again it maybe be different for 14 plus as older kids.

We are trying independent exam papers atm. That you for your guidance on interview question i will follow the post.
