Homefield Prep - most hated on Mumsnet?

I am (or rather was) considering this school for my son at 7+ entry as a school that prepares for both grammars, and independent schools at either 11+ or 13+. However there are many negative comments on Mumsnet - is this a handful of parents or is it really that bad?

In real life I've only heard good things. I don't think it's super academic but neither is every child.

@KindergartenKop - the leavers destinations are not too shabby…

@WinterSuny maybe it's ok then.
The boys seem nice and I have met SLT once and they seemed really lovely. I live nearby, no kids at the school. Have you looked around? How old is your DS? Would you move him at 11 or 13?

I would be looking at getting him for y3 - my ds is currently at a pre-prep but would like to both live and get him into a school where he can be prepped for both grammar and indies in either yr 7 (grammar) or yr 9. Everything I read on Mumsnet about it seems predominantly negative (save for your and one or two others comments)

Sent my boys here recently. Amazingly good school, well mannered boys, warm staff and dynamic leaders.
Outcomes speak for themselves. Check them !
I would ignore the couple of internet ‘trolls’.
good luck with your choices 😀
