New primary school tables published today

Whether you agree with them or not - for info the latest primary school tables/results were published today - details are here .

Quite relieved to see that our local school, which changes in the way the admissions process is handled around here means we may be forced to go for, has increased from an overall score of 216 (very worrying) a couple of years ago to 266 (ok). I know it's not everything, but it's some reassurance at least.

Oh yes, I see it now. It's purely secondary schools they're talking about. I thought you meant primary, sorry

I totally agree about the hothousing, dh is a music teacher and sees his extra curricuar lessons cancelled all the time during SATS ter,.

One of the reasons we are sending dd to her school is it is one of the few independants who are not takingpart in SATS.

I hate SATs
there. I said it. Leaugue tables do my head in too. But I suppose people need to be able to 'compare' schools somehow.
