11 plus online tests?

6 replies

Hello!

My son has three examination mornings coming up in January. He is doing some prep work at school for these but we would like to do some at home too.

We would prefer the online type rather than having to print loads of sheets off.

Any recommendations?

Don't mind paying if needs be. Thank you!

Some people swear by atom.
What format are the actual tests in? It might be better to practice on paper rests if the real exam is on paper!

Independent or grammar? Certainly round here they are v different
The 11+ forum has info on it all and links to resources

Independent!

The format of independent school tests varies so much that again I suggest 11+ forum which also covers independent school exams.
The one I prepped DD's for (top locally in Parent Power yesterday) has definitely admitted pupils who had only completed half of one of the papers because they are looking for potential and the quality of the work actually done obviously impressed them enough. I doubt this would apply to many schools, just using it as an example of the variability in private selection processes.
Many schools have practice papers on line. I used many of those as well as standard Bond books and Nfer Nelson.

@WithIcePlease thank you!

My sons school have been prepping them for a while (he's at a prep school!).

His teacher is sending him home with some papers to do over the break also.

I know one of the schools we have applied to do not release any of their past papers.
