Bursary

Do anyone know if I am not getting a home visit or any contact from the bursary department for more information. Does that mean my daughter is not going to get even a normal offer from the school?

It’s not the same is it? @Rosesss
Bursary is separate from admission. What date are admissions sent out? Both should have a timetable for decisions? Is this secondary or primary?

What I mean is that will it be because the school does not want to offer my daughter a normal place so they do not contact with the bursary department to assess the amount of bursary I can get. There isn't timetable for the bursary process but all the offer is going out next week.

It's a private sixth form

All my kids have burseries. I’ve never had a home visit and they usually send the letters telling you that you have been successful in January/February.

Thanks for your reply. Does that mean my offer will be noticed next week (written in their timetable) and then I will know whether I qualify for bursary in later in January/February. The reason for home visit for bursary is it just for some larger amount of bursary and some suspicious cases?

I don't think we can tell you - you need to contact the bursar at the school and ask them. We had home visits for several schools but that was several years ago. We heard about the bursary levels with the offer letters so around the end of January.

The offer will go first and the list of all offered children who apply for bursary will send to financial department to assess. You will be asked to provide documents for “mean test” if it is so obvious outcome , they do not need to clarify then they might not need to make a home visit. They will write other letter to you to confirm whether successful or not. But yes the offer will go first. Financial department would not need to work out for all applications and require all the private and legal documents from the family who are not successfully get in the school.

Thanks! That's a lot more clear for me.
