Putney High Sibling Policy

I am aware that officially there are no sibling policies for the GDST schools. My eldest is at PHS and my youngest (end of August baby) is very bright but has a slight Achilles heel in terms of her age against her peer group (most in her current class being nearly 12 months older). The PHS exams are not standardised for age. Does anyone know if PHS gives consideration to siblings?

Most similar schools have told me they would use it as an tiebreaker if trying to choose between 2 candidates with the same score etc and they would also probably be higher up a waitlist. Are you talking about seniors or juniors? Probably a bit more leeway with Juniors as it's all slightly random at that age anyway!

Thanks for the response. It's quite difficult to find any information on siblings. My eldest is at PHS Senior school and the PHS test 11+ test is not standardised for age so wanted to gauge her chances.

I’ve also got an older child in the senior school and am applying for an 11+ (year 7) place for my younger DD. I think the above comment is correct in that they would likely use sibling status as a determinant in a tie breaker or borderline situation. Fundamentally they want to have girls who can cope with the academic pace although as an existing parent, I do know that there is quite a range of abilities in existing year groups. Academic entrance exams are only one measure of potential success and things such as ability to focus, maturity, self discipline and strength of character are actually equally important - although difficult to assess. The Athena assessment (stage 2) probably goes some way towards doing this. Best of luck to you.

My dd is appearing for the Athens stage 2 at putney high this week. What is exoectd in their stage 2? They say a group activity followed by creative response and an interview. What kind of group activity is expected and what's the creative response? Also how long is the interview generally? Any insights would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

@melody1105 I'm in the same situation for PHS. Usually interviews are about 15-20 mins, but interested in knowing what happens with group dinamics too
