School for academic but sensitive child

my 7 year old DD is in one of the well known selective girls preps in SW London and academically very strong but a sensitive and shy child the alpha girls culture isn’t working and she’s losing confidence socially. Can anyone reccomend a school in SW or central london possibly as far as Wimbledon which is strong in teaching and academics but less alpha types and is happy with great pastoral care for the shy brainy girls ? Girls only or Co-Ed ( she’s Y3 by the way )

Prospect House and The Study Wimbledon - both always get good reviews.
Also the preps around Kew Green if you can travel in that direction.

I agree The Study Wimbledon. Eaton House the Manor is also similar and lovely. These two have brilliant leaver results to 11+ mainly top day schools and a few to boarding.

Broomwood Hall also good but more boarding destination focus at 13+.

We found co Ed diluted the alpha girls but then meant boys often dominated more. Behaviour is then more mixed and my shy DD found that hard.

Thank you both I will call the study and prospect . I heard they are very low on girls at prospect in Y3 from some friends who left ( to senior ) last year. I suppose that might have changed but could alter the dynamics - also don’t think she will do well with boy heavy class. Is the teaching strong for bright children and do they extend curriculum ? Would love to hear from those with girls at both schools of anyone minds I message them? Wimbledon Putney much better direction for us , think Kew tricky …

I would recommend Falkner house. The small structure ensure girls are considered on an individual basis. Pastoral care is amazing and there is no place for bullying or intimidation.
Feel free to pm me. I moved my daughter from another well know sw girl prep for similar reason.

Hampton court house, but may have lost that vibe after its takeover

A friend’s daughter goes to Francis Holland (the Sloane Square one) and describes it as extremely kind.

CruCru · 20/11/2022 16:33

Or would you consider Queen’s College prep?

Francis Holland a possibility location wise but queens too far for us. I’ve heard very mixed reviews on FH academics hence hadn’t considered it but maybe not much substance

St Catherine’s Twickenham always seems very nurturing but still get good academic results. Worth a look?
