My daughter completed the Guildford high assessment last week but we're still waiting for the results. Has anyone else's daughter also completed the assessment last week and received their results yet as I do not know how long it takes to get the results? I'd appreciate any ideas/advice, thanks i**n advance.

Yes indeed- good luck everyone!

Does anyone know how we will hear ie will we get an email or letter through the post? I had assumed email but that's just me guessing.

Cinnamonbuns34 · 25/11/2022 17:33

Hi- we still haven’t heard anything? What about everyone else?

foreverhopeful7 · 25/11/2022 20:36

Nope we haven't heard anything either. Literally been waiting with bated breath all day as really thought today would be the day.

drmummyof2 · 25/11/2022 20:46

Hi- I got my letter this morning and my dd did not get in. I heard there’s a postal strike which is why some letters are taking longer then usual. Good luck to those still waiting!

foreverhopeful7 · 28/11/2022 13:50

Sorry to hear that @Cinnamonbuns34 - best of luck to your daughter wherever she does end up going and I'm sure she will do very well.

We just finally got our letter and have been offered a place. I think we will likely be accepting.

@drmummyof2 - let us know how you get on.

drmummyof2 · 28/11/2022 14:21

Sorry to hear that too @Cinnamonbuns34 . I'm sure your DD will be happy and do well in which ever school she goes to.

Congratulations @foreverhopeful7 !

I'm still waiting for my post to arrive 🙄. Will keep you updated if I hear anything!

@drmummyof2 - have you heard yet?

drmummyof2 · 01/12/2022 16:59

Yes, sorry I forgot to reply back, we didn't get a place. Not sure what GHS were looking for as they kept my DD for 2.5hrs during the assessment! My DD got a place at Tormead so we have accepted that 🙂

Oh no worries. Congratulations to your DD on getting a place at Tormead- hope she will be very happy there.

Thanks for all the support both during this process- glad it's all over tbh!

Notonyours · 01/12/2022 19:01

@drmummyof2 it's a dark art! My DD and another (current) classmate both sat for GHS too, neither got in, but we both accepted Tormead like you, instead. Glad we accepted Tormead (not that GHS isn't amazing, which im sure it is!) as it's simply brill. My DD's class is super, girls are fab, parents are normal and lovely (I'm not making any comparisons here) and there's a great sense of community in the class and school. Every other few weekends there's a girls' birthday and social time for the parents. She's also come on leaps and bounds, really impressed with her growing up into a kind confident young thing - the whole class seems to be doing well too from the work we see and comments from the class parents.

So I guess my point is, I think love it here despite not getting GHS - I look forward to meeting you, drop me a line if you have any questions. :-)

Thank you too @foreverhopeful7 🤗.

Thank you @Notonyours , that's really reassuring and very helpful, thank you for sharing. Its definitely a dark art! Im pleased that my DD got a place at Tormead and It's great to hear that your daughter & the girls do well. Im also glad to hear that the parents are lovely & socialise too. I will PM you shortly 🤗

Arguably a much better result - well done to your DD, Tormead is a lovely school. It is incredi ke rare to hear a bad word about it locally.
