Cat scores over 120

Hello, I have a DC in Y4 and we've been given his CAT scores (over Y2 and Y3) and they are averaging 125+ across Eng/Maths/VR/NVR. Headteacher thinks he has a decent shot at some of the super selectives, but he needs to be over 130 by the time the 11+ comes around. I'm just wondering at what sort of prep helps in this case if at all? Is it something achievable? We don't want to pressurise him.

Atom learning seems to be well regarded for reasoning practice but there are other online training programmes too. Also you can buy paper copies of reasoning practice books. If he is scoring 125+ without any reasoning practice he would probably have a good chance of raising it to 130+ with practice.

My child was the same level, except for non verbal reasoning which was new to her. We bought a book on how to do that and then went on to do Atom Learning for two months, and her average after that was, if I remember correctly 132, with the top score possible in the verbal reasoning and one other section. We didn't do any tutoring. We started the project in July, once a week. She got multiple offers from selective schools after the autumn exams.

Thanks very much. Did you get the Atom Nucleus account and set her specific targets via targeted practice @nowgoingout ? And was this in the summer before exams? I don't want my son to burn out too quickly. @MGMidget , thanks very much too. What other training programmes are available?
