DS goes to a very good comprehensive school. All boys. Very middle class area - Greater London, very high earning area, middle class blah blah. I didn’t move here for this reason. Ended up in the area 20 years ago as a graduate, honestly not realising the decent place I’d moved to. I just liked the area.
fast forward some years and I had kids and happened to be in catchment for lots of good schools. Luck, not planned. I like DS’s school. It’s all boys. He’s year 10, aged 14. DS is decent kid, kind, mid level academic, ok sporty. Just a normal kid in my eyes. So many of the kids in on his school are better academically, sports etc (you get the gist of this from all the awards ceremonies, reward trips, insta posts that the schools does) However….the behaviour in school is 😳😳😳. DS never gets detention. The amount of kids who do get them is amazing. He had an external speaker come to do a presentation for 100 year 11s and 10s last week and the behaviour in the presentation was so bad the speaker complained and the school threatened to cancel the school foreign exchange.
i don’t understand how so many kids can be getting awards and reward trips when behaviour is so bad.
