Does anyone else thing these books are dreadful?
Our school was on the ginn scheme and ds2 had finished and was on free reading-they had a nice selection from horrid henry and sheltie to micheal morpugo.
This year the school has gone on to ort and these books. Ds is on the fluent readers and info trail series.
The fiction stories are banal in plot and vocab, even the pictures are badly drawn, and the info trail ones have about 5 words on a page and take minutes to read.
is there a point to these books?
