St David's Prep (Purley)

Hi lovely parents,

Does anyone have any experience of St David's Prep in Purley? My children are currently in single sex schools and we're looking to move them into the same school to try and make life a little easier. I really liked the look of St David's but in the past few weeks I've heard some conflicting reviews and that a lot of children are leaving in favour of Cumnor Boys or Girls, or Royal Russell. Any insight would be much appreciated.

We had a look round, but decided against it. From what I know (and, just to be clear, this is nothing more than conjecture and idle chit chat with other parents) it's a good school and one that is designed to send kids to the local independents; so Whitgift / Trinity et al. As such, I think it might suit families that are going down that route, as that sort of pathway obviously creates a certain type of dynamic. We actually decided against it as we felt it was quite expensive, and we weren't focussing on those secondary schools.

I'd recommend simply visiting and meeting with the head. She was very open and honest about how the school approaches things.
