Kids off school in heateave

I’m from Bolton and kept my 8 yr old home from school yesterday and today. Did anyone else in the north keep their kids home?

Mine went in yesterday but we kept them off today, we're in Yorkshire. They slept really badly last night and were unbelievably hot when they got in after school yesterday so when the head emailed that any kids off today would have an authorised absence we decided to keep them at home.

We had roughly half the school in for the morning, then all but a dozen or so left after lunch. All absences were authorised.
