Parents and carers have to make difficult decisions about children with SEN. To help them to navigate a complex legal network decision pathways have been developed to help make legally based decisions and to challenge unlawful ones. They can be found on this www.sendecisions.org.uk website.

I’m looking for advice on courses for special educational needs. I’m a qualified teacher and I’ve been supply teaching for the last few years due to various other commitments. I’m interested in developing my SENCO skills and I’d like to be able to apply for SENCO posts but I’m aware I have no training in this, apart from the broad training in my PGCE. Unfortunately I can’t do the SENCO course without being employed which I am not.

Has anybody any advice on any online courses in special educational needs which I could do to help improve my chances of applying for an assistant senco role so I can hopefully then do a SENCO course?

TIA!
