Urgent! Final ehcp issued - can LA change named setting?

Final ehcp received weeks ago, naming a provision. We had some concerns (a poor ofsted amongst other things) and asked for another setting to be consulted. This provision has said they can meet need and now LA are saying it has to go back to panel. They will no doubt name the second provision as it is considerably cheaper. After talking to the named provision we are now happy with it. Can the LA change it once its been named on the final plan?

Wasn't changing it precisely what you were hoping that they would do?

I guess your best hope is to let them know that you're now happy with the original proposal so no need to continue the process to change it - but as you say, if there's now another option that would save them money, they may decide to continue.

I was told by the caseworker that IF the consulted school was suitable, I could request a review of the EHCP and then ask for the new school to be named. The new school wasn't suitable sadly.

All resolved now as what I was told is what should have happened, so we're now proceeding with the named school 🙂
