Think I want to quit

I started a new teaching job in January and I think it was a mistake. On the face of it all should be fine; I'm part time, colleagues are nice and the school as a whole has a good atmosphere. I'm not happy though and I'm beginning to think I should leave.

It's a completely new area of education which I wanted as I needed a break but I miss the type of teaching I used to do. I also keep looking at non teaching jobs. I feel totally confused about it all. I'm also doing supply and I think maybe I should just do that for a while till I sort my head out.

I'm torn between going to see the head and discussing how I feel or just leaving it over the summer and giving my notice when I go back. Maybe I'll enjoy it more in September but I'm doubtful about that.

I’d use the summer to work out your resignation.
Move on, work shouldn’t make you unhappy.

So you currently have two jobs? That sounds like a lot. It's easy to overstretch yourself in work like teaching.

I've missed the resignation date to be able to leave this summer. As far as I know the earliest I can leave is October half term. I don't think I could go any earlier

I am a bit overstretched but I could do with the supply money and I wanted to keep my hand in with primary teaching which is what I did before.
