Strong recommendation for all parents and kids sitting Common Entrance in year 8: Pick up ALL your ISEB practice books 6-9 months in advance of the tests and get working. Find past papers and practice practice practice. These tests are not easy, and nothing you can do well in with just standard revision of your school curriculum!!

Who are you wanting to advise, OP?

IME children at prep schools get more than enough teaching to manage CE for whichever school they’re going on to.

And I’d assumed that all independent senior schools now offered a separate exam for state school entrants, that followed the state school curriculum.

Have things changed recently?
