Help… BOA dance pathway

Hi. My daughter has applied for but has not been given a place at boa dance pathway. She has been placed on a waiting list and apparently near the top. However, has anyone any experience in their child being offered a place after being on a waiting list.

also has anyone any experience of appeals for BOA. My daughter did approximately 11 hours of dance a week for years (she’s 14) and the only way she has continued so well in her school studies is the thought or hope of getting into the academy. I can no longer afford to pay for as much dance and She struggles a lot socially at school and I’m worried she may fall behind at school and grades drop due to all of this.

any advice/experience surrounding appeals or boa waiting list would be great. Thanks

Under what grounds would you be appealing? The only grounds I can think of is that the aptitude workshop was administered unfairly or that your child for example was put in the 10% out of catchment area whereas they should have been placed in catchment.

Twice as many people apply for BOA as they have places and as your dd is near the top of the waiting list they must have done well.

Hi My daughter has also just been turned down for a place at BOA to go on the dance pathway. I just wondered whether you went ahead and appealed and how you got on? My daughter is in a similar situation. Desperately unhappy at school and pinned all her hopes on BOA.
thanks
