Hi,
can anyone provide any insight to Oakhyrst Grange Prep in Caterham and Hawthorns in Redhill?

Sorry OP I've had three goes at replying but an advert keeps popping up which I can't get past. Could be the reason you haven't had any other replies.

Oakhyrst likely to be best for 11+ preparation. Hawthorns not so because they go on to 14 and Caterham not so because they want children to go to the Senior School. Caterham suits non academic pupils best who

are very sporty, especially those who are into ball games because other sports are very marginalised. The nursery/preschool is being closed down in September because they are now taking in more pupils further up the school, so expect class sizes of up to 24. Sorry about the multiple replies. It's the only way I could get past the adverts.

Thanks so much for your response and perseverance, I really do appreciate it.
Im currently torn between the Hawthrons and Oakhyrst. The insight on Caterham is much appreciated, it seems they are very popular at the moment.
Im relatively new to posting is there something I can do to get rid of the ads?

Oakhyrst is very much the smaller of the two but good for music opportunities (or was a few years back). You do tend to find pupils transferring to Hawthorns, Hazelwood, Caterham and the Reigate preps at year 3 or later for more opportunities in sport etc. Hawthorns has fewer pupils staying to year 8 since they dropped Common Entrance and those who do are often on deferred places for year 9 to Caterham or RGS.

Thanks so much for the insight! I really appreciate it! Lots of things to consider since they are quite different.
