Hi,
i have 2 daughters aged 9 and 12 and Im attempting to teach them self awareness and emotional intelligence using keys concepts from CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and other similar disciplines. I have changed my life using these skills and i think it would be very useful to teach children some of these key ideas at around the age of 7 - 11. Im putting together many ideas and talking to parents and teachers to get as much input as i can. I intend to start writing some scripts which i hope i can turn in to videos in due course. I would like to understand the most prevalent issues and problems that this age group experience (i know what issues mine have and are having) but i want to compile a bigger list so that i can start to work on each issue separately. I would appreciate any feedback and input about this project. I have no desire to turn this in to any kind of income, i just want to help children develop emotional well being so that they can grow up in to more mature and grounded adults, which can be passed on to the next generation.

What are your qualifications in dealing with mental health in children?

There were issues when people were trying to flog mindfulness in primary schools - some interventions are not appropriate.
