I'm looking at moving my son to DPL this summer term in year 7. I will take him in to start with but then I would like him to gain some independence by going to school on his own. He will need to catch the train from Victoria. Do many other children go in from Victoria so he won't be alone? The school looks lovely and caring and I'm sure he will be happy but it would be nice if other children are commuting in. Thanks

I think most younger children use the Foundation Schools Coaches. They take longer but are safer and more fun at that age.

I think the foundation buses will work better for your son. The train journey might be fine on his own after Y6 or so, probably not before. The walk from the station to the school is around 10+ mnts as well. There are a lot of students commuting from Beckenham etc, but not Victoria so you may not find lots of boys to walk with in the morning.

I walk in the opposite direction from school down to WD and there are loads of kids walking up the alleyway. Don't know which direction they've come from but there is a fairly regular stream of kids at least from the station up to the school.
