Any advice on how to get my job grading reviewed?

I'm the business manager. It seems to be a job that in our LA area, attracts a salary of anything from c. £25k in a small primary to £70k+ in a secondary academy.

I work in an LA PRU across 5 sites with 150 staff but only 250 children. So equivalent to a largish secondary in terms of buildings, size of budget and staff numbers but far fewer students.

I'm paid similarly to a SBM in a large primary. I'd like to ask for this to be reviewed and want to give myself the best chance of success.

Can you get hold of the descriptors for the different roles? Specifically do they give any detail in the scope and impacts of the different roles? Eg budget scope (so you can demonstrate that aspect is the same as for secondaries), relationship scope (much wider presumably than average primary school) and impacts of role (number of pupils kept in education, reducing input of welfare officers) etc.

Basically you need to demonstrate that regardless of number on roll the associated responsibilities are broadly in line with those expected in a large secondary and therefore the salary should reflect that.
