I am trying to budget for 2008 and am wondering hom much is an average holiday scheme for my DD (year 1)? I work 3 days a week so am wondering if they can be booked on a daily basis or are they for a full 5 day week? Easter and summer holidays mainly as I can cover the half terms and Christmas. Thanks everyone

look up Camp Beaumont - they do day and residential courses in London and South east - think they work out at between £35-£40 per day?

dc's school do one which is between £20 - £25 a day (depending if you book by the day or in a block). Are there any private schools near you which may do same ? YMCA is cheaper iirc.

My local authority runs holiday schemes; maybe you could look up yours on their website. Also some of the breakfast and after-school nclubs run them too. In Herts I have found that the prices vary between 8 pounds ands 25 ounds a day. HTH

thanks everyone for you swift responses. I do live near quite a few private schools but cannot find anything that informative about their holiday schemes. From memory of various adverts, co.s such as Perform tend to be popular aslong with an arts scheme but perhaps I am too early in the year to be looking them up. I will budget £35 a day. I could actually use my old childminder in any case but thought that these clubs are worth investigating.
