Dd now in secondary school. Received a bunch of files relating to her SEN from her previous primary school. Amongst these was a document detailing the needs and provisions for other children in her class eg Preston -poor attention; Sharon has poor attendance ; detailing those on pupil premium and listing all their interventions.
It took me a while to realise what I was reading but it was 3 pages worth.
Should I inform anybody that these documents have been passed onto me? Do schools have an equivalent of a Caldecott guardian?

This is a huge GDPR issue. Report to both schools and possibly log with the LADO if you are worried that the way the school handle documents is a wider safeguarding issue. It’s probably an error and shouldn’t be in the file but equally someone should have checked the contents of the file carefully before handing it over.

This is definitely a data protection breach and should be reported to the primary school. Imagine if it were your daughters information that was accidentally posted in someone else's bundle Hmm It's probably a lapse in attention or printing error but still...

You need to let the school know and return the document to them. They are supposed to report themselves.

Thank you. I thought as much as that’s what happens where I work. Just wanted reassurance . I’ll get it to them tomorrow. It feels very wrong to have the information in the house.
