Dear all,
I really need some advice on my situation. We were supposed to move to Oxford last September but our sale fell through and we couldn’t. We tried to frantically rent a place before the applications deadline for year 7 entry but were unable to, so we submitted a late application for my daughter through our local council where we are in Berkshire (for schools in Oxford). I know its a long shot and very unlikely that we get into any preference schools but we had to try.
A few weeks later we found a place to rent in Oxford and were advised to put in a late application through Oxfordshire council which we did, but this will only be considered in late March/April and will depend on there being spaces in the schools.
Today we got the response from the application and its no surprise we didn’t get any schools in Oxford. What concerns me however is that the council kindly sent us details on how each school dealt with applications and why we were rejected and whether the schools have any places left after the March allocations. Basically, there are 0 places in each of the schools. This is concerning because it means when the late application is assessed later this month/next month, there’ll be no schools for my daughter to be allocated to!
What do we do? If she is given a school outside of Oxford then how can I drop and collect her as I have primary age children who will also need dropping and collecting?
Any advice on this would be really welcome.
