As a rough guide what % common entrance score is required at various schools? I have only seen schools requiring an average of 55%. Are there any higher than this? Thankyou.

Some are 65/70 and above but it can depend on the level of paper

My info is a bit out of date and increasingly many schools no longer use CE or offer their own 13+ / deferred 13+ entrance assessments.

Sorry can't find the guidance we were given(and the school no longer follows CE) but from memory Sevenoaks was one. If your dc are at a prep there should be appropriate guidance offered by the smt as to which schools are the best to aim at. Bear in mind those are minimum requirements so a higher performing child will still be catered for and potentially gain a scholarship.

Harrow, Radley, Marlborough 60%, just check out the websites of the schools you are interested in. In my experience a lower score in French or RS will be forgiven but English, Maths and Science must meet the standard.

More and more of the schools are coming up with their own exams rather than relying on CE, but I believe Westminster and St. Paul’s would require around 70%.
