Why do I turn into a gushing teenager in front of DS's pre-school teachers

.. and is this signs of things to come

I don't get it .. I am far from young, intelligent, educated, previous high-powered career...

... but stick me in a parent / teacher informal gathering and I feel like I'm waiting for their approval of my attitude towards DS (3.8)

... they are the loveliest women too .. nothing intimidating there

.. am I just sad

let me re-phrase that

I am far from young. I am intelligent, educated, previous high-powered career

(gosh grammar counts doesn't it?) LOL

If it's any consolation, I'm right there with you.

Well, apart from the fact I still consider myself young

I'm the same, if it's any consolation. I think it's the fact that you have to sit on these little chairs with your knees up around your ears - absolutely impossible to look in control! I feel that everything I say is then analysed in the staff room, usually with the words "well, with a mother like that, you can't really blame the children, can you". It's just like being back at school yourself.
