GHS 7+ for Sept 2022 entry

Hi everyone,
My DD sat the 7+ for GHS today and there were sooo many girls sitting the 7+ today. I know results will be posted end of the month, but does anyone know how many places are available for Sept 2022 entry (year 3)? It looked like way more than 50 girls there today.

It is usually max 8 new girls. I think 7+ is the toughest time to get a place. I know of girls rejected at 7+ who go to other local preps and then happily got in to GHS seniors at 11+.

I imagine competition even worse this year with the trend of people moving out of London.

@SilverPolarBear thank you for sharing this. Really appreciate it. Another mum at pick up yesterday said there were 5 places only and 80 girls sitting the assessment day which felt quite disheartening. 😔
I agree on the people moving out of London point.

We went through it a few years ago and DD ended up at a local girls' prep. I thought it was a sign that I was perhaps pushing DD too hard and needed to relax expectations. She then got 11+ offers at st cats and GHS along with other schools. It all worked out well and I think was one of those 'happened for a reason' things.

DD2 is now year 6 and possibly suits something a bit different (thinking co-Ed) so I am glad she wasn't tied into an all through. It meant we could review what kind of school suited her nearer the 11+ time. Cutting the stress of 11+ may also have been good though I know!!

5 places with 80 girls? I never knew it was this competitive! I'll tell my mate to stop checking the post then!

Yes, it's sooo competitive! Does anyone know is there going to be an interview for the second round? Or is the result which be posted end of the month the final result??
