Foreign school trips cancelled?

Is ours the only school which hasn’t cancelled a trip to France due to leave in the Easter holiday (2022)? I keep on hearing of trips being postponed/cancelled - what’s happened at your school?

When covid kicked off last year a lot of schools had to wait for the travel advice to be updated to don't travel in order to claim costs on insurance. Cancelling early results in loss of money. It's essentially a giant game of chicken

My DD was due to go to Italy with the school at Easter 2022, it was cancelled a few weeks ago and no money lost.

DD’s trip to Iceland in February hasn’t been cancelled yet

Ski trip to Austria at Easter not yet cancelled.
But we did get a letter saying now that 12-15 could have a second jab 3 months after first one, that’s a requirement for Austria so if anyone couldn’t go because of a choice not to be double vaccinated there would not be a refund from the travel company.

Son's school has cancelled June y6 trip to Israel - they just had to because Israel is remaining very tight with its rules and they'd miss out the chance to arrange an alternative if they waited any longer for things to clarify. I had hoped it might be ok by next year, but I get why not.

Easter ski trip to France not yet cancelled. DD will have had 2 jabs by that point.

Teen DD's school hasn't even attempted to book any. Normally there would have been some overseas sports tours, German/French/Spanish exchanges, geography and classics field trips, oversea volunteering, ski week and optional fun trips abroad for years 5+ for activities week.

It's sad for the teens, especially the 6 formers.

It would be a right pain for the staff if some of the kids tested +ve abroad.

Feb school trip and Easter school trip both cancelled as to do anything the dc needed to be double jabbed and it's not guaranteed they will be by then. The school had to pull out early to get a refund from the travel company
