DD has been offered a place at Marlborough college (MC) for sixth form. Has anyones DD been there or currently in 6th form at MC? Please could you advise us re:boarding houses how do they work with the new 6th form intake? I'm especially interested in the mixed boarding houses?

I hand PMd you but she is really lucky and I would have no worries about taking the offer.

My DD has also been offered a place at Marlborough for 6th form starting next September. From what I gather, the 20 or so new girls are split between the four mixed houses: Preshute, Cotton, Littlefield and Summerfield. The year groups in each house comprise about 10 boys up to 6th form and then 5 or so new girls join in the L6. There are about 50 boys and 10-15 girls in total in each of the mixed houses. All 4 houses are located further away from the main court/classrooms compared to the single sex houses. Any tips on what it's like joining at 6th form would be useful!

Occasionally the new 6th form girls can join a girls house if there is a space. Happy to answer any questions as my DD joined in 6th form albeit a few years ago now.

Hi
Nikkitravel that's great news. Congrats to your DD. We have looked online and don't think there's too much difference between them. Dancingdreamer PM'd me some info which was very useful and reassuring.
Keep us posted if you find any other tips or info!
