I’ve moved to the UK 10 years ago and did all my schooling and education in another country.
My DC have just started reception and I am keen to understand options for beyond KS1 or secondary. I have gone for an outstanding state primary, although I feel the school starting age here is very young, kids seem settled and generally happy.
On other threads, people seem very stressed about 11+, moving at year 3 and private options for secondary.
Can people with experience of these please break it down for me in terms of the pros and cons of the various options? What would you do differently? How to go about picking a good option for later years?
If it helps I am in SE London, from what I gather there are not great secondary options. Many opt for grammars in other areas or tend to go private.
